From an invite to your first session
Five steps. Most of the wait is for the invite; everything after that takes a few minutes.
Request early access
Tell us where to reach you and what you would use Lida for. Invites go out in waves, and your request holds your place.
Install the desktop app
When your invite arrives you get the Windows installer. Sign in with the same account you use on this website.
Say what you want to do
Start a session and talk. Lida reads what is on your screen, so you do not have to describe your setup or paste an error message.
Choose how Lida helps
Lida asks whether to guide you, teach you, or do it for you, or you say it yourself. You can switch part-way through by voice and she picks up from where you are.
Stay in charge
You can always see what Lida is doing. While Lida is acting for you, touch the mouse or keyboard and she stops. Ctrl + Alt + Space silences her and stops anything she is doing.
What happens each time you ask
Lida does the same three things every time. It sees: it reads the app, the window and the controls on your screen. It explains: it tells you where you are and what the next step is, out loud and written on screen, and says so when it is not sure. Then it shows or does: it rings the control and waits for you, draws the idea on a board beside your work, or carries out the step itself.
What Lida needs from your PC
A microphone, so it can hear you, and a session you have started, so it can see your screen. Nothing runs when you are not in a session. The security page lists exactly what Lida can and cannot do.
